Nestled amidst the Sahyadri Hills, Mahabaleshwar is a hill resort in Maharashtra that comes under Satara district. Nestled at an altitude of about 1372 m, the hill resort will give an idea about the beauty of the place from the moment you start driving uphill towards it. Situated at a distance of about 247 km from Mumbai and 120 km from Pune, it is easily accessible for tourists.

Tourist can easily get State Transport buses, private buses as well as private taxis to reach the hill resort from Mumbai. Mahabaleshwar has been a chosen holiday destination amongst people since the time of the British Raj. Serving as a proof of this, are the many bungalows that dot its landscape, reminding one of the British structural design. Though, as per the need of time, the historical bungalows are being replaced by houses and mansions and built as per the modern architectural style.

The breathtaking view of the valley below in Mahabaleshwar offers lush green forests; blooming flowers and splendid ravines make you fall in love with them. The hill resort is also full of cascading waterfalls and gushing springs that seem to be adding to its magnificence and brilliance. The loveliness that you will come across can barely be seen while in a vehicle, so you can also ride on a horse here.

Arthur's Seat Point is another major attraction in Mahabaleshwar, which has a very scenic spot. It is located near 'Gau-Mukha', supposed to be the source of the five Deccan Rivers, namely Krishna, Koyna, Veena, Savitri and Gayatri. Apart from this, you can also explore Echo Point, Malkam Point, Tiger Spring, Hunter Point, Castle Rock Point, Savitri Point, Elphiston point, Cannought Peak Point, Wilson Point(Sunrise Point), Bombay Point (Sunset Point)and the Babington Point.
